Run Wild & We Did

This weekend, I ran the Detroit Zoo's 5k Run called Run Wild. My goal was to beat my Crim time of 29:03. I ran with my personal coach, Helen. Helen is pictured above, with what could be one of the scariest costume characters ever that were traveling around the zoo after the run. Back to the run, I was aiming to run a 28:30. Helen who is a super runner, decided to help me reach my goal instead of racing. So she jogged with me and talked the whole time while setting a faster pace for me. Did I mention how wonderful she is, if not let me remind you. So we get to the first mile and we are at 8:30, the second mile is 17:11, then I slowed down a lot, but because we were ahead of pace, she let me. When I crossed the finish line, she clocked me at 27:41, my chip time was two seconds faster 27:39. I finished 27th out of 100. See the results. I was so thrilled, I even had the energy to sprint through the finish! Helen is such a great coach! Did I mention that if Helen was racing she would have won her age group, no problem! In fact when we were checking our times there was this woman in front of us that said to Helen, oh I beat you, so I had to say, well you only beat her because she was running slow with me. Yes I was talking smack at the results!

After the run, Helen gave me my very first tour of the Detroit Zoo. This is a sad fact, that it was first trip to the zoo, considering I lived just two miles from the zoo for three years, but just never went. Yes, I know I also grew up in Michigan, but we lived closer to the Toledo Zoo in Ohio, so that's where we went. But anyway back to the trip, Helen gave me a personal tour of the zoo, did I mention she works there. Yes everyone should go out and purchase a membership, support the zoo, and Helen, she's the head of the membership department. SUPPORT THE ZOO! Was that subtle enough. (This message is not paid for and/or endorsed by Helen and the Detroit Zoo.) Anyway back to the tour, she says that she hasn't had a trip to the zoo like I had in the 6 years she has worked there. We saw the baby snow monkey, the read panda was awake and walking around and the best part was that the polar bears were swimming and playing the water. Oh and I almost forget, my favorite thing at every zoo the gorillas. The big 590+ pound 35 year old silverback gorilla came up to so close to the glass in the ape house. It was so cool. Do you know that gorilla's can like up to 50+ years in captivity and they give the girl gorilla's human birth control! Yes, so get the pill and other get depro provera the shot. Wow!

So what did I do after the rest of the weekend, well you will never guess, Bruce and I went back to the zoo. Yes, why not double the number of times I had been to the Detroit Zoo in one weekend. It was fun, we went with Bruce's boss Dorothy and her three daughters, Lauren, Sophia and Anna. It's been a rough year for them because Anna has had some medical problems. She is now on a feeding tube and doing better. They are taking it day by day. Anna seemed to have a great time at the zoo, we were there all day and she never fussed. Bruce and I had fun acting like kids.

Let's rewind a little to Wednesday Night: PROJECT RUNWAY. Ok, so a busy week and weekend so apologize that this is overdue, not that I think anyone plans their week around reading my comments about project runway, but hey, I can pretend. So this week, we start the challenge on the runway, but Heidi tells them they have to learn the details at a party. Well the designers can smell something. They get to a New York Club and Heidi walks in and wants to introduce some special guest. The door opens and in walks: Vincent.. Then the next guest: Angela. Hey didn't they both get booted, yes they did. So I am thinking at first that the challenge is going to be so taxing they are going to need to employ the help of the last two designers kicked off. But I am very very very wrong! No they decided this year, that anyone that had won a challenge would get to come back, the only people that had one that were not yet kicked off where Keith, Vincent and Angela. Since Keith had been kicked off for cheating, only Vincent and Angela got the chance to come back. The other designers were needless to say irritated. The key was both Vincent and Angela had to win the challenge in order to stay, if not they were automatically kicked off again. There would be three eliminations no matter what this week, so if Angela won Vincent would be gone and so would two of the other remaining designers.

The challenge was a black and white cocktail dress. Michael did a stunning white dress with a black cumberbun belt. Lora, who was in the bottom two and quite shaken from the last challenge, won this week with a cute babydoll black lace gown over white. Uli was Uli, she had a crazy pattern, I didn't love this weeks version of the same dress she always does, but it wasn't awful. Kayne, well I love Kayne for his great personality, but his dress this week was pretty much just black. As Tim would say he missed the point. And Jeffrey, he did this hideous rock n' roll outfit with these cheeky pleather leggings yuck. When it came to the bottom two it was Jeffrey and Kayne. And unfortunately Kayne was out. This week they pick the final designers, the teaser is that it might not necessarily be three, I have a feeling it may be all four, but that is me. Who would I like to see in the final three: Michael (who I want to win,) Lora and Uli. Who do I think it will be: Michael, Lora and Jeffrey. Well stay tuned!

Also coming up this month the season premieres of my favorite show and all the new shows, I am very excited.

My temporary Michigan State tattoo. I got it for free after Run Wild. Helen of course got a block M for Michigan, but funny they didn't have anything for Mizzou, so in Bruce's honor, I got the Sparty! It has sense been washed off, but it was fun for the day.

Booger Wins Big Brother All Star

Yes, I called it, Booger won the big brother, Erika only got one measly vote from Marcellas. So Booger gets the grand prize and takes home $500K and Erika gets $50K. We watched a lot scenes from inside the diary room/confessional. Erika got to see what we were all seeing, that Booger made her out to be a really big whore. I think he put it best when he called his "Showmance" a "homance." Again, I was never a huge fan of Booger. When it comes to Chilltown, my favorite member has to be Dr. Delicious. He was smooth, attractive and funny. He was the one that made me keep watching the show. I must admit if he was kicked off sooner, I would have not kept watching.

Janelle wins $25K, she was picked by anyone who was willing to pay 2 bucks to vote via their cell phone. I must admit, I do get caught up in these things, but I have never broken down to pay to text message. I will only vote if there is a free online voting option. Yes, I am cheap.

And back to Booger, what was with his bro-mance with Will, to me it was almost more believable than his relationship with Erika. Is there something there? Does Booger really love Will? Is it more than friendship? You decide.

Tomorrow: Project Runway, which I won't have a chance to write about until Thursday, but stay tuned. Also if you haven't check out Tim Gunn's project runway podcast, they reveal inside information that you don't hear about in the shows, mainly his dislike for Vincent. It's worth the time to listen You have to love Tim.

On a side note: the leg is feeling better. For those of you have been following I hurt my hip/leg this summer. Now I am feeling much better, I had to take a lot of time off, which was a big bummer, but I ran at the gym on Monday and felt great. I am running Run Wild at the Detroit Zoo this weekend. I am going to play it by ear, I am running with Super Runner Helen. Helen is my amazing friend, who is a kick butt running. She was a two time Michigan-state cross country champ. She is the woman who was running a race and was out in front, she was bit by a poodle and still managed to come in 3rd place overall and 1st in her age group. Yes and I am proud of top 15 in my age group. She isn't racing the race, she has a newborn at home, which means I will be able to keep up her.

Also big news the mega millions is at $135 million, if I win, Helen and I plan to start an awesome cross country running organization for kids Michigan. Yes we have small dreams, along with paying off our mortgages. However, I am planning on going to work tomorrow and I am not holding my breath, but its fun to dream.

And I don't want to forget, my birthday was on Friday, September 8. I got to school in the morning and when my four morning seniors arrived to class, they came bearing gifts: a card, cake, Dora the Explorer Party Hats and Blowers. I am such a lucky teacher. I was so surprised. It was a great way to start my birthday. Then my family finished it off in Frankenmuth. Those of you who aren't from Michigan, have never experienced a place like Frankenmuth, it's our fake Germany. The road signs are all European, it's like stepping into Baveria for some great chicken and a the biggest Christmas store in WORLD. Oh yeah, it's a good time. Yes it was my idea, of course. Are you surprised?

On Saturday, Angie, Olive and I stepped into the Caribbean. We went to dinner at Bahama Breeze. You can't go wrong with the Jerk Chicken Pasta and the Ultimate Colada. I had to include a picture, because, well we looked so cute, well Angie and Olive looked so cute, but it was my birthday, so they had to take the picture with me. I have more great pictures, like Daisy my dog in her Halloween custome. It is so cute you have to love it, even though she hates it. And I can hear the groans already, but it was only 4.99 at Target, I couldn't pass it up. If you have made it to here, give yourself a pat on the back, because this could be the longest blog I have ever written.

Big Brother Season Finale

The countdown is on... T - 1 hour and 10 minutes. Stay tuned for my season finale analysis. Will it be Erika or Booger? I want Erika to win, so that means it will be Booger. I wonder what the line is in Vegas.

Project Runway Paris Couture

This week the designers were in Paris. It was a disappointing week for me why because there was no hope for Jeffrey being kicked off because he won immunity when he won the last challenge. As you can tell by now, I can't stand Jeffrey which means he will make it to the final three. He is just so condescending. I hate it when he is like, "I have the best outfit, these other idiots have no idea what they are dong, blah blah blah. " And of course it was more of the same this week.

So on to the challenge, the designers were told to create a couture dress in two days with $300 Euros. A side note, I hate the Euro. Do any one else remember when going to Europe (with the exception of London) meant great shopping? The lira to the dollar: the mark to the dollar: the shilling to the dollar. It was always in our favor. Now there is the Euro, which is never in our favor. Even when it the dollar was doing better it was still one to one. Ok, back to Project Runway: so they had to make this dress with couture (hand sewn) details. Laura's dress was the same dress she makes ever week with the crazy plunging next line and a different collar. My favorite Uli, because I like Uli. I also liked Kane's dress, apparently I have no taste. But I hate to say this, I actually liked Jeffrey's crazy dress. Michael's was ok, but it wasn't his best week. Vincent is well awful and crazy, his dress looked like an alien outfit.

I agreed with the judges when the kicked out Vincent. Not only did I hate this dress, I hated everything he made. It was about time.

On a side note: Big Brother just wrapped up tonight. It's Booger and Erika in the final two. Janelle was kicked off. I was rooting for her, I think I may have jinxed her. Yes, I have that effect on people. My parents thought about giving me the middle name of unlucky, it was either that our klutz, some how they settled on Lynne. More about big brother later, the season finale is September 12th.

It's my birth week!

Bruce sent these to me at work today. I am so lucky, because my birthday isn't until tomorrow.

The Best Time to Shop --- EVER

Rarely do girls/women get a day like today. I think this is the first time in the history of my life that I have had a day like today. So you are probably wondering what happened. Did I win the lotto? Did I get a shopping spree? No and No, what happened is I got up this morning, got on the scale to a number that was lower than expected. I had already planned on going shopping, but now with this ace in my back pocket I felt fierce (yes that is a reference to ANTM.) So I head off to the Somerset Collection. Yes I like living in the country but I still prefer to travel south for clothing, Pamida's nice, but they haven't yet hooked me for fashion.

Today was one of those days, that the stars were lined up in my favor, because not only did my scale play along but also the sizes at the stores. Yes, we all know that stores are in the habit of vanity sizing, but heck, it's always nice when the sales clerk says, can I get you anything, and you say, yes this, but in a smaller size! Can I tell you this was so much better than the times I spent crying in the dressing rooms in college, when nothing fit! I had to write about this day, because lord knows it won't repeat itself. So I am looking forward to wearing my fierce new outfit on the first day of class, hopefully my students can appreciate it.

Labor Day Weekend Activities & Big Brother on TiVo

The weekend started out with Bruce and I working for channel 4 for their Arts, Beats & Eats show in Pontiac (Sheree and I pictured above sitting at the desk.) Let's talk about Pontiac, Michigan for a moment. I call it the Bermuda Triangle of Oakland County. Why do I call it Bermuda Triangle, because once you make it into the city it is impossible to get out. All the streets are one way and go in circles. It's funny that I agreed to work for them, because I after getting lost there just the week before, I vowed I wasn't going back. Back to the show, Arts, Beats & Eats is the annual labor day festival. Its name gives it away, but if you didn't figure it out, there is an art show, concerts and food. The big headliner this weekend The Verve Pipe. Yes, remember the song "the Freshman," it was big in 1997.

I was field producing in the art section, it wasn't that exciting, but it was easy enough. Bruce got to fill the shoes of field producer, a roll that he is not used to. Usually he is stage managing at these live events. So it was hard for him to be in the roll of producer, he said he kept trying to through cues to the talent, which was not his job. It's a nice enough time, Bruce and I went back today, mainly because we had loads of free tickets and nothing else to do. We ate ourselves silly and it was all free, which is the best. Our favorite part was hanging out in Ontario, Canada, yes while we were in Pontiac. There was a whole Ontario tent. We Michiganders visit our Onatrio neighbors frequently. However now that the exchange rate is not in our favor we aren't heading over there as much, so apparently they packed up Canada into a tent and brought it to Pontiac, no birth certificate or passport required. The pictures with the fish are Bruce and I in Canada, in Pontiac, in Canada. If that makes sense. The streets of Pontiac were packed today, I am assuming it was mostly people who came on Friday but couldn't find their way out. Remember its the Bermuda Triangle of Oakland county.

Now let's talk about Big Brother. It's now down to the final four: Dr. Delicious Will, Janelle the big breasted blonde bomb shell, Booger and his Showmance Erika. Booger has won head of household. He says his "chilltown" buddy Will and puts Erika and Janelle up on the block. But Janelle is the Veto queen. If she wins it looks like Erika is a goner. Erika wins, Janelle is out. If Will or Boogie wins, I don't know who will go. Tuesday we will find out who wins power of veto. If you can't wait go to Todd's blog he is now watching the live feeds from the house, I knew it was only a matter of time. But if you want a surprise don't go to his blog, because he gives away details.

Oui, Oui it's Project Runway ala France

The designers are given the task to design for a jet setter. That jet setter was themselves. They had 1 day and $75 dollars. The designed the outfit, modeled it in New York. The judges scored them in New York, but then they weren't told who was elminated yet. The judges told them there were tickets waiting and they had an hour to get to the airport and get on a plane. When they got to the airport they found out that plane was taking them to Paris. When they got to Paris, they had another judge. The winner was between Michael and Jeffrey. I was pulling for Michael. Jeffrey won, YUCK. I still don't like him. His attitude is still that of a pompous jerk. Especially when the Paris judge was giving her critiques. He was smiling in that smug pompous way. I just wanted to hit him.

Angela was sent home. I was sad to see her go. I must admit that I didn't really like Angela in the beginning but she grew on me. Jeffrey however has not grown on me. He won this week but one can hope he makes a mistake in Paris. Tune in next Wednesday, or if you are like me tune in via TiVo on Thursday. 10 pm EST is too late for this working lady.

D-Day is getting closer, what is D-Day, it's the day the students return to school. Today was the first day back at work with the entire staff. We had the annual watching of the blood born pathogens video. Yes, yes good time. It's filled with lots of bad actors, with what would normally be small injuries bleeding profously. I mean suddenly a paper cut is gushing liters of blood. These people probably need a transfussion in order to survivet hey are bleeding so much. It was disgusting as usual. And as usual I have no disire to touch blood or bodily secretions, students or anyone elses. Thank God for the video.

We also took an all staff picture. (Picture on left.) Yes it was my idea, so I am waiting to get all the compliants. It's like a disfunctional family photo, half the people are hidden behind someone elses head, the sun was so bright we are all squinting. It's well, a good effort. Hey it's a start. I am will take the criticism. Bring it on. I am looking forward to the start of school Monday, I am excited to meet my new students.

Running the Bobby Crim,
Yeah I am Top 15....

This weekend, I ran the Bobby Crim road race in Flint. This is the 30th year of the road race, its an annual tradition for my family. This year, it was me, Bruce, my mom, Aunt Janet, Aunt Val and counsin Jill that all ran. The big race is the 10 mile, I however opted for the 5K, especially with my leg injury (see earlier post.) The good news is I beat my goal of 30 minutes. I ran the 5K in 29:03. I was 15th in my age group (25-29), and no it wasn't 15 out of 15, I was 15 out of 85. Also I beat Bruce by 45 seconds. Check out the results. This isn't a record breaking run, but it was good for me. My best time for a 5k was 24 minutes but that was oh, 10 years ago. I am hoping that next race, I might shave another minute off. Next run, the Detroit Zoo's Run Wild.

My counsin ran the 10 mile. She is 16 years-old and she is something else. She ran the entire way in a bikini, beads, scarf and carried a boom box. I am wondering if 16 year-olds are completely insane. You be the judge. (Pictured here to the right.) With that fancy get-up she managed to run the 10 miles in 2 hours, did I mention she was carrying a boom box.

As for TiVo, I didn't record the Emmy's because the shows I watch do not need to be awarded for me to know that they are great. Well at least entertaining. And it figures all the shows I watch didn't get awards anyway. All I have to say is Kathy Griffin was robbed. It's crap. However, I did hear that Dick Clark had an interesting moment. I think the way I heard it, was that he should never be allowed to speak on television again. I however felt that way at New Year's Eve. See I love being a television spectator, because I can make those judgements on others, while no one can make them on me, because I am not a television star. Oh the simple life -which I don't watch, I can't handle Paris.

Wrong Way Project Runway - Why is Jeffrey Still In?

This week's challenge was really cool. Designing for a normal American woman and the models where the designer's family - mom's and sisters. These were not the type of models that the designers were used to, why not? Well I don't think any of them were "model size" but really who is, I am not. The kicker is the designers got to pick their model but could not pick their mom or sister.

All of the designers were super nice to their guest models, with one exception.. a big exception: Jeffrey (pictured at the left.) If you aren't up on their names but have seen the show he is the one with the big Detroit tattoo on his neck. (It says Harrison Detroit and some Italian that I don't know, but apparently he named his son Harrison Detroit- as resident of Michigan, I take issue, mainly because I don't like him, but I digress.) He had Angela's mom, who was a bigger woman.

He was supposed to design with his model in mind. They meet she told him what she liked and he pretty much ignored her requests. At one point the models were allowed to come back and check in on their outfits. So Jeff's model is standing by his station, when Tim Gunn comes over to see how it's going. Jeff is no where to be found, so he asks the model (Angela's Mom) how she like the colors. She is honest and says it wasn't what they discussed, but she was also very gracious. Jeff walked up and was appalled that she was speak the truth. So he gets his panties all in a bunch and he basically says he doesn't care what she wants and will make whatever he wants. Jeff was a complete DICK! And I am toning it down here. He made her cry.

Ok really is that necessary. For the love of God. Then his mom is trying to mediate, she is like he is a recovering alcoholic/drug addict. Apparently to her that means her son can be a raging asshole to anyone. Get real people. Let's face it Mama Jeff, your son maybe a recovering alcoholic, but it doesn't make him any less of a jerk. So the justice comes at the end when Jeff has to sweat it as on of the bottom two. Not only did he make his model cry, but he made the ugliest outfit. It was this strange moo-moo like dress with a weird vest. It was oooooogly... But unfortunately he brings too much drama to the show, which the producers like. I was trying my best to will through TiVo Heidi to send Jeffrey and his stupid tattoo home. But of course they kept him and kicked the lovable former Barbie Doll designer Robert Best (pictured to the right.) I am so sad.

Other observations from the show: one has to wonder why Angela was so passive with Jeffrey. I mean I would have been in his face or in the producers face to get his ass reprimanded. I am not normally confrontational but if you mess with my mama, I would be all up in your business.

The winner this week, surprisingly it was Vincent. Usually I hate his clothes, but this week he was designing for Uli's mom. He made her a really classy dress with a very sassy collar and belt. Other favorites: Uli, she is so nice and very consistent with her look. Michael is a shining star. Kaynes outfit wasn't great thies challenge, but he is still very likeable. We also learned the Lora is pregnant with her 6th child. Lord have mercy, wow six kids in New York. She's an architect, let's hope her husband's a doctor or a lottery winner. So the cast is now down to seven, let's see what unfolds next week. Set your TiVo Bravo Wednesday Nights at 10 pm EST.

Last Night: UB40 - Today: I B Tired

O.k. I know it's lame, but hey when you are as tired as I am at this moment, being clever and witty seem to be only distant memories. Last night I went with Olive and Angie (pictured below) to the UB40 concert. I thought the only song I knew was Red, Red Wine, however I knew many more. It was the most fun to people watch. The audience was filled with middle aged - mostly men - mostly white - who can't dance. Despite the fact that they couldn't dance, they did. The most amazing spectical was the woman with who brought a prop: it was a small towel that she used to swing around, like a lasso. And when neede it could be used to wipe her brow of sweat. It was fun, but when I woke up this morning I was regretting it strolling in a 1 am.

So now I am home and kickin' back with TiVo watching my new addiction: Big Brother All Stars. (Thank you Todd & Andrea.) Holy cow this show is bad, but I am loving every minute of it. All I have to say is I never thought Head of Household, Power of Veto and Chill Town would be part of my vocabulary, but now it is. This game is full of alliances, lying and complete and utter nonsense. So left in the house we have a deceiving doctor and his crazy partner Boogie (which I have is decided short for booger), booger's secret fake-breasted girlfriend, a blonde bimbo, a whining frat boy and Chicken George.

So here's the skinny on how this silly show works: every week the "house guests" battle in a silly game every week to determine who is Head of Household. The head of household nominates two people who the other house guests will potentially be voted out of the house. But before the vote there is another competition where the house guest battle for the "power of veto." The power of veto lets that house guest veto the head of households nomination or do nothing. Of course if you are nominated you want the power of veto and if you are the head of household you want it because you don't want your nominations to change.

If you are a real die hard fan you can watch a live feed from the house and know what is happening before it airs. I don't think I could ever be that obsessed, who knows we all have a our moments. Big Brother is on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is good because I am constantly craving more drama. I need something to get me through the week, really it's just passing time until the next new episode of Project Runway, which is TONIGHT! However, with me being so tired, I think I will have to rely on TiVo and watch it tomorrow.

Back to School

So summer is over. I went back to work on Monday. However the kids won't arrive until after labor day. This year I am a full time teacher, which I am very excited about. This means the I will have two classes. In the morning I have only returning seniors. In the afternoon all juniors. I am expanding my program, so not only will I teach video and audio, but also graphic design, digital imaging and web design. So far, I have been doing a lot of cleaning in my room. I am excited about the kids arriving, but also a little bit nervous.

My hours until August 31 are 7:30 am until 2:00 pm. This is a big change for me because there is no sleeping in until 10 am, I know that is late, but hey what can I say, I have no kids and dog doesn't mind. I love sleep and staying up late, both do not work when you have to leave the house before 6:45 am. It has only been two days, but so far so good. I am also making effort to do my hair everyday. We will see how long this lasts, I am trying to only be a one snooze girl. It's easier said than done, winter is usually the time that results in me wanted to stay in bed all day. Of course I have also had an immediate coffee iv drip in the morning. Coffee is the only way I can even fake being a morning person. Despite all this progress I still don't talk to anyone until I get to school, I am chatty most every other time except in the morning, I am almost mute.

Tonight, I am off to UB40 with girlfriends! Yes you know the song, sing it out loud. Red, Red Wine.... I am excited about hanging out with girlfriends and enjoy the 80 degree weather, because in not to long I will be wearing a coat.

a running frustration

So here's the deal, I have been enjoying a wonderful summer of running (unfortunately despite the summer of running, I still don't look like that picture above.) It like watching TiVo is one of my favorite things to do. Unfortunately I am not as spry as I once was and either too much running or these crazy incline sit-ups has put me on the bench. I have hurt a muscle in my upper thigh/hip area. From the little research I have done (a.k.a calling my Uncle Jimmy who has a masters in exercise physiology) I have determined that I have pulled/injured my ischiofemoral ligament, or it could be the pubofemoral or iliofemoral ligaments, they are all in the same area. (See the picture to the right, you can click on it to make it larger.) Regardless of the ligament, I have had to take time off running. Right now I am at 6 days with no running. It is hard especially when I was enjoying my last week of summer vacation, sitting starring at the beautiful weather not able to go running or walking, because that made it hurt too. Tomorrow will be a one week and I want to try to run again, but I am a little afraid that it might be too soon. If I have learned anything with injuries its bad to go back to soon. But my heart says run, my brain says wait, no run, no wait. I know what you are thinking, there are a few too many voices. I am signed up to run a 5K at the Bobby Crim next Saturday, I was hoping to break 30 minutes. (those of you who may be serious runners now know that I am not in your league. Hey I am proud of breaking a 10 minute mile.) However if I haven't run in two weeks before the race, I will be lucky to keep my normal pace. So on 75 degree days like this when I should be running with my dog at the park, I have resorted into power washing my porch and cleaning windows. From one obsession to the next.

On another note: back to the new hair. Have you ever gotten your hair done drastically different, however there is no one to notice. Of course my husband noticed, but other than that I haven't really seen anyone else I know. We keep going out and I look at strangers or people who check me in the at the gym, regulars at the gym, cashiers who have checked me out before at Walmart, anyone who may have seen me once before expecting them to comment on how much they like the change, but the kicker is they don't know it's a change. Bruce and I were supposed to go to his family picnic yesterday where I was sure that someone might notice, but it was raining and Bruce had to work so we didn't go. I saw my neighbor and he looked at me and you could tell he was like I know there is something different about you, but I have no idea what it is. So hopefully my co-workers will notice, because frankly I need confirmation of change. Thank you for those who commented on my blog. And I know this sounds silly but it isn't, I need people to notice and say they like it, even it they are lying. Girls, I know you know what I am talking about. I just feel like it was such a big change, that the next couple days people should be stopping me in the streets saying, did you do something to your hair, girl it's fabulous. This means only one thing, I need more gay men in my life, next step find out where they hang out in Lapeer county and befriend them.

Book Club Rocks...

Is three books a successful book club, I say so. Here we are at our third official meeting. The book we read: The Cinderella Pack. This is a very predictable chick lit book. Next book: My Sister's Keeper. This book is much deeper and will probably lead to a little more discussion.

A New Look For School...

So for a while I have been thinking about doing something new with my boring old brown hair (pictured in my self portrait to the left, can you tell I was trying to look fierce like ANTM, however I failed miserably.)

So now I am headed to Sandusky, Michigan. Why Sandusky? Well Machele goes to this "great guy" who is cheaper, than heading south to Oakland County. I am excited and a little anxious. I wanted to do some chunky highlights, but I fear that I might look as if I am trying to hard to be cool. Which is pretty much a constant, but very rarely can be outwardly seen.

So here goes nothing. My appointment is at 2:30 pm, but I am arriving sooner to eat at the most famous Michigan DQ. (Seen at right, we stopped during our Thumb Tour, however didn't have the full Grill experience.) I will be meeting Machele and Haley for a Brazor (sp?) Burger. I am not sure what this burger is exactly, but I am sure that it is supposed to be delicious. So of course I am in.

Despite all this, you are probably wondering what in the world is she going to do to her hair. How could she look any better? (ha ha) Well think celebrity, who I already look like, no not Mayim Bialik from Blossom, Jessica Alba. Yes I know what you are thinking they do look a like they both weigh approx. 97 lbs and are swimsuit models (so those of you who haven't caught on by now, I hope you can feel the sarcasm, I haven't weighed 97 lbs since I was a single digit ok maybe 11 or 12, I don't remember.)

Stay tuned for the the hopefully fabulous results. Or the announcement of my death, I mean the death of my attempted coolness. Ok that died in 7th grade, but I liked to think it was just on life support all these years and it's family was really religious, so it didn't feel it was right to take it off life support, because there was always a chance of a medical miracle. Until now...

Blueberry Picking

Today Bruce and I went blueberry picking in Capac. To be exact we were at the King's Blueridge Blueberry Farm. We tried to go the farm in Imlay City, but they are apparently only open on Sunday & Saturday. So now we are forever committed to picking our blueberries in St. Clair County.

I have not been blueberry picking since I went with my mom as a little kid in Dexter, Michigan. It is fun, especially eating your body weight in blueberries while you are there. However, I did pick more for my bucket than I ate, which was first. See I must be getting more responsible as I grow older. I maintain that I am just product testing while I am there, I want to make sure that I like the berries from the bush I am picking from. Plus blueberries are high in anti-oxidants: so I figure I am fighting cancer at the same time.

When we got there they warned us that it wasn't very good pickin's but none the less we came home with 6 pounds of blueberries. Please note that I picked 4 of those pounds (pictured above,) Bruce picked 2. It is a steal though, u-pick blueberries are $1.50 a pound, compare to the $2.50 you spend at the store.

Plus when you pick you get to enjoy time outdoors. And the sound machines in the fields that are supposed to keep the birds away, they changed between high pitch chirping, to what I thought were the sounds of seagulls, to crows to this weird dying cow sounds. Needless to say the best blueberries where found around these machines. Mainly because I think no one wanted to pick there for fear of going insane. At one point when I was close to these noise machines, I could swear that any minutes I was going to be chased down by crows and eaten alive. Who knows? Maybe other people don't have the imagination I do or haven't seen Tippie Hedren in Birds.

We spent about an hour picking, Bruce however started asking if we could leave at 30 minutes. We bought some homemade molasses cookies that were fab and now I have to figure out what to do with my hordes of blueberries. I believe a pie is in order with vanilla ice cream!

Who is the Pack Leader?

Dog Whisperer on National Geographic - TiVo It!

Ok, so I stumbled onto a new show on the National Geographic channel, it's called the Dog Whisperer and it is fabulous. The premise seems obvious, but I of course will explain it anyone. Cesar Milan, Dog Whisperer, (pictured to the right with people I don't know.) comes into homes of dogs and owners who are out of control. It's like Super Nanny for dog owners.

It turns out that most of the problems with dogs are their owners, go figure, I think it's the same with children. Cesar Milan's big thing is about being the "Pack Leader." The problem with dogs is people treat them like people not dogs. So once owners turn into "pack leaders" the problems with their dogs disappear. The dogs need to be submissive to their "pack leaders." My favorite things is when Cesar shows dog owners how to own thing in their house, he also wants to see them own the walks. So Cesar uses what he calls corrections.

What is a correction? Well I know it involves the noise "tsch," the he often uses a choke collar or his simulates a bite. It's not a hard and it doesn't hurt it just lets the dog know who's in charge. I feel empowered now. I am using my techniques everywhere. Granted, I am not charging into dog fights, or using my "pack leader" powers with pit bulls like Cesar does, but I am not afraid a yippie small dogs anymore. I am the PACK LEADER.

Now all I need is the Cat Whisperer to teach me how to deal with my over-affectionate cat, Ziggie (pictured with me to the left.) The one who loves me so much that he has nearly smothered me or he the love bites that draw blood. Plus I need someone to help me stop his breathing problem, every time I take him to the vet, they say he is fine it's just a viral infection that he will have it forever. But the cat sneezes and snots all over my house and my couch. I love him, but some times I love to hate him. It's really not a healthy relationship.

my first place

Meet Ken & Lora Stock (pictured with me.) Ken and Lora are a very charming couple. I meet Lora during my days at The Henry Ford. She and I began quick friends. Why because we think that we could be the most hilarious people alive? I have never meet a girl that makes me laugh so much. She also laughs at my jokes, which I appreciate. Ken is a super creative web designer and lovely husband of Lora.

So why am I featuring this super cute couple on my blog that has to do with what I watch on TiVo. Because you can now TiVo them. Yes, they have been featured on HGTV's My First Place. It's the show that introduces you to someone, in this case Ken & Lora, who just bought their first place. They show re-do's a room in the house for the new home owner.

Ken and Lora bought their first place after a fire destroyed their apartment. It was one of those really awful times, especially for newlyweds. As they said on the show they are the luckiest, unlucky couple in the world. Why lucky, because their renter's insurance was activated at 4pm Tuesday and at 2am Wednesday morning they left their apartment with just the clothes on their backs and kitty. (pictured below.)

Despite all that fire that turned their lives upside down, forcing them to move in with Ken's mom for a little while, they now have a super cute house and are television stars! You can TiVo Ken and Lora's episode, it will be on again on HGTV on October 4, 2006 at 4pm. But don't expect Ken and Lora to be stars of the show, despite Lora's witty sense of humor, Kitty got the most face time.

As for the episode since I have already seen it, I would say that this is definitely the best episode of the show that I have seen. I have been TiVoing it for a while so that I wouldn't miss Lora & Ken's debut. And they were clearly the best. Also check out Lora's awesome hair and multiple wardrobe changes. Again, she was made for TV.

Outlet Shopping madness

A trip to the Pottery Barn outlet in Birch Run is always fun, but my most recent trip was the way outlet shopping should always be: bargainragous, or was it bargainriffic, maybe I would call it bargaintabulous. Whatever you want to call it, it was amazing deals.

Here is how it happened. My dad came to Attica for a visit. I was telling him how I have been searching for a storage bench for my "mud room." I want one that I can store in my shoes in and sit on. So my dad suggested outlet shopping, which is a surprise when my dad suggests shopping. So we piled in the car and headed toward Birch Run.

When we get there and out of the blue run into Bruce's Aunt Sandy & Uncle Joe. That was very random. So we are wandering around the store and I notice a pile of boxes that all say 1.97. I tell Bruce that I think everything in these piles are $1.97. He then tells me I am crazy. However, a nice woman has my back and tells him I am right. Which of course he believes her and not me.

Well anyways, all of the sudden the employees start bringing out palets full of boxes marked 1.97. We start opening the boxes to see what is inside and it's crazy deals. I mean crazy. They were clearing out their Hold Everything brand. I picked up a tote bag with leather marked $99.99 for you guessed it only $1.97. We got some shelves for 4.97. We got a wooden footstool for 1.97. A chair. Suede lined storage boxes.... We got an entire car full of stuff for $25. When we added up what it would have cost if we bought it for full price was about $800.

Yes now those are the bargains that we all hope to find when we go outlet shopping. Our car was packed to the gills. Another couple spent $85 dollars and filled two pick-up trucks. To be honest I had never had an outlet experience this satisfying. However, I of course bought all this great stuff and didn't come home with a bench.

Go Tigers...

Today I went to see the Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 1-0. I went with Angie and Olive, however I was told that they did not want to see that picture up on the blog. I was going to tempt fate because I think very few people read this blog, but I decided not to. It was a hot fun, very very sweaty day. Just call me Sweaty Betty, which I am actually consider changing my name to call me Mrs. Betty, Sweaty Betty. I think it would be a big hit with the kids.

Now I am at home in the air conditioning enjoying my friend Kathy Griffin. I have been enjoying a lot of reality lately, like Making the Band 3. I must admit I have a little crush on P Diddy. It's not a big one, but their is something about that man's cockiness.

The Hills had it's season finale. And all I have say I can't be LC would skip Paris for Jason. Come on I know that you don't really need experience because you are on MTV, but it's a Teen Vogue and Paris. I would have said the hell with Jason and hopped the next plane to Paris.

Then there is of course, Project Runway. They kicked off Keith because he had fashion "how-to" books in his room. Which I am sure is against the rules, but it wasn't was I expecting. I wanted sabotage or a fight. Wouldn't that have been hilarious a cat fight between two designers. Uli seems so meek and mild but Keith pushed her over the edge when he slapped her. Ok it didn't happen, but it would have exciting. As for the rest of the show, it was good. Angela won the competition and Bonnie was ousted. I am ready for it to continue, sometimes I wish I didn't watch until the end of the season and then watch the marathon all in one day, like I did with Sex in the City.

My Other Love: G. Love

Yes many of you may know of my love for G. Love. But I am writing tonight to profess it once again. I just got the newly released (August 1) album entitled Lemonade. As I am sitting here listen to his cool voice and the harmonica. So far Hot Cookin' is the song on the album that I keep replaying, but I am also really enjoying Thanks & Praise. Wow, I am falling in love over again. I remember my first concert in Columbia, Missouri.

I am sure you are questioning, is Bruce aware of this love. Yes he is very aware, it was part of our vows. He is o.k. with it, mainly because my affair with G. Love is musical so mainly it's me swooning over my ipod, with the exception of a couple of concerts a year. However this year has been very very disappointing because G. Love has only been to Michigan once and it was with Dave Matthews. Frankly these concert promoters do not realize that I am not interested in anyone else but G. Love. I prefer to be in the front rows of a concert like the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor.

So here's to my one marital exception. G. Love, I love your music, style. So let's get back to Michigan, heck I will even do Ohio. To everyone who is reading this and saying G. who, all I have to say is shame on you. Go to Itunes and download it immediately. I will be sitting her listening waiting for him to come to Michigan to see me.

The New Office Walls

The new office look via my cell phone camera. Bruce put up the shelves, right n ow we are displaying my dorky pin collection. Yes you may be surprised that I am a geek/dork, but I am. As of late I have been trying to catalog my collection. I have been collecting pins as long as I can remember. I can remember where most of them are from and when I got them, but of course there are some that I cannot remember.

Fresh Meat - Real World Road Rules Challenge

Ok, I love my MTV... MTV Reality that is. But I must admit that I was disappointed with tonights episode. Of course Corel and Evan were kicked off the show, why because they are both injured. Coral dislocated her knee and Evan had a hernia. It is crap because they are my favorites and they always bring the drama.

Now we have Tina left. Blah blah, that girl talks way to much. Here is a message to the producers at MTV: Stop talking to Tina, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Yes nails on a chalkboard.

And of course another compliant: kick someone off. It's like an every other week thing where they kick someone off. I like the challenges and I like the exile, but I don't like waiting a week to know the outcome. I thought now that we were nearing the end, we would have more decisive shows. Sure you want to hold off because you had to go and kick off Coral and Evan.

Kathy Griffin - D Lister & Fab

This is one of Bruce and my new favorite shows. It is smart and funny. I love Kathy's raunchy sense of humor. I can't help it but I find myself being told (mainly by Bruce) that I am inappropriate around children and religious people, and that is totally Kathy, so I again enjoy her. Only she gets paid for it, I on the other hand get the "knock-it-off" look. The fact that she is a celeb that tells it likes it is makes me love love love her and I am not a gay man, her self-proclaimed demographic.

I just happened into this show as I was waiting for Project Runway on Bravo. But now it has a new permanent spot on my TiVo. Go "D List."

Speaking of Project Runway, the suspense is killing me. If you haven't seen the promo's someone is getting kicked off and I want to know who, where, what and why. I am hoping that the show is fabulous and juicy, I am some what worried that it will be a disappointment. The promo's are killer and often when that happens the shows are not. I watch Project Runway for a couple reasons, I love the assignments, I love the drama and I can't sew and have no fashion vision of my own, so I like to judge others abilities. Isn't that the American way.

I am writing this at my garage sale, this is Saturday number two because the first weekend, I felt like I didn't sell enough. The main objection to this sale is to get the stuff out of my garage. I am not looking to make a ton of money, but heck I will take a little. The sale should have ended 30 minutes ago, but I am extending it in hopes of selling one large dresser. It is now running until 4pm. Come on people, lets start buying. heck I might even give stuff away for free: just take it away. Garage sales are interesting, it's funny what people are looking for, I thought that the cheap although nice furniture would be the first to go, but the people want their chatchkies. My chatchkies are few and far between.

Yum Chicken...It has been a very very busy summer. Last week, Bruce and I ventured out to the famous Manchester Chicken Broil. What? You have never heard of this event, say it isn't true. The Chicken Broil happens on the third Thursday in July every year in Manchester (the small town I grew up in.) On this third Thursday, the set up the bbq pits and grill 14,000 chicken halves and serve it with a ton of the secret coleslaw. Yes, I said secret, it it told that only three people have the entire recipe and they aren't allowed to travel together. It's a blast and good food. So if you are in the area it's worth the trip, it is usually during the Ann Arbor Art Fair, but it's a great time and polar opposite to the Art Fair.

Before that we went up to Mackinac Island for the Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race. It was fun. This is our third year working the race and I am starting to feel like an old pro. I recognize the sailors, that can be good and bad.

While I was up there I found another TiVo lover, well I had already known her to be wonderful, Andrea Gearhart, (pictured to the left biking around Mackinac Island.) But on the trip I found that TiVo changed her life too. She also dates her TiVo, with her husbands knowledge. We talked about life before TiVo and frankly we can't imagine going back to that place. We also shared our dislike of the DVR, yes the TiVo imposter. These DVR's promise the ease of recording your programs, but lets face it folks they are no TiVo. They lack the ease and friendliness that has made us grow to love our "TiVo." She suggested so great shows for me to watch: The Hills and Big Brother (also suggested by Todd.) So when I got home I quickly added them to my list. We are both addicted to Project Runway, and looking forward to the next season of America's Next Top Model and of course Lauguna Beach II.

Also are there any other fans of Flip This House on A & E who are very disappointed that there is no Richard Davis & Trademark properities on this season, instead it's two brothers in San Antonio. Let me tell you I was not impressed and did a little research only to learn that Richard and A&E are on the outs. Instead he's making deals with TLC, but I could find no information when we will see Richard, Dawn and Ginger on TLC.

On another note, this one literary, while I was up in Mackinac I read "My Sister's Keeper" by Jody Picoult. Wow was that an intense book, I read it in literally 24 hours. I also literally cried in about nearly every chapter. So I am thinking it will be a lifetime movie, I see someone like a young Sally Field playing the mother and a princess diaries Anne Hathawayish girl playing Anna. If you haven't read this book, I would say read it but be ready for an emotional outburst.

This summer has been crazy busy, I am enjoying having time off. I also know that my TiVo is patiently waiting for me to return. TiVo lets me enjoy my summer, but it knows I am coming back and so do I.

Sold! We close on wednesday.

Many of you have been following our struggle of selling our house in Berkley for nearly a year now. But the good news is it is sold. We close on Wednesday morning. We have gone through the ups and downs of real estate, we are just thankful to have it sold. Especially considering there are nearly 300 homes for sale in just Berkley. What does this mean for TiVo, well it means I can stop TiVoing "Sell This House," which is good because there haven't been any new episodes on for quite some time. I think I have seen nearly ever episode.

In other TiVo news: Project Runway returns to Bravo this week. I am thrilled. This means I have something meaningful to TiVo again. I have started to TiVo random shows on the WB, so I will be glad to get some quality time in with TiVo.

Good Looking Losers

Well it was fun to Emmy Nominated, but as predicted we didn't win. We had tough competition. We entered our Port Huron to Mackinac Sailboat racing documentary, however our competition was called, "Surviving Auschwitz: Children of the Shoah." That documentary won. Congratulations it was well deserved.

So that being said, we still had a lot of fun getting dressed up, walking the red carpet and sitting through the awards show. We did however have a lot of friends from Channel 4 that did really well: shout out to Sarah Mayberry, that fabulous health producer, who took home three Emmys.

It was very inspirational to be there, because the work was all very good. Bruce and I went home thinking, what are we going to do next. So set your TiVo's there is more to come from this Emmy Nominated Producing duo. Who look very cute despite coming home empty handed.

Up North - No TiVo
We are up north in Calumet, Michigan this Fourth of July holiday. We have very limited access to technology. Currently we are borrowing the interntet from a local hotel. So I must be amused with Lake Superior, Old Mines, Museums and family. I am actually having a lot of fun. I will update everyone on TiVo when I get back.

My friend Amy's office on her last day at TEC. It was my going away present those pictures are cats. Did I mention she hates cats?

All Aboard... My first experiences on Amtrak.

Besides having to wake up at 5:20 am on a Saturday, to catch 6:05 am train it wasn't that bad. I boarded the train in Lapeer. I paid for my ticket "on the train," sort of. I had to get off the train in Flint and pay at the ticket window. The good news is the train did wait for me to reboard. The ride was pleasant. We stopped quite a few times in Michigan, however once we got past Flint I have to admit I was asleep. I woke up in Kalamazoo. The last stop was in Dowagiac, then from there we went directly to Chicago. I really found it to be a relaxing ride. I made one trip to the dinning car for a coffee. I enjoyed looking out the window at the countryside, I know the I-94 trip to Chicago by heart, it was nice to change it up a litte. We arrived to Chicago 10 minutes. As I was riding the train, I found myself a big fan, despite the ticket debockle earlier in the week. I will take Amtrak again. I think it would be a fun way to travel this summer, since I have a lot of time off. I am not sure it's the way to go if you are in a hurry, but its definately a great way to see the countryside. stay tuned for my next trip by rail in the states.

Troubles with the Amtrak and I haven't even boarded the train...

Here is the skinny. I called Amtrak on Tuesday for the Chicago ticket. The woman I talke to told me if I wanted my triple A discount it would cost me $12 to have it shipped to my house, since Lapeer doesn't have a ticket booth. I said well that doesn't make since because it would end up being more expensive than the $42 ticket without the discount. I will take that one. She than told me I couldn't, because I couldn't buy that ticket until later in the week. So I said, ok i will call back. Now never having taken Amtrak, I was unaware that the price would go up, I know that sounds silly, but the lady made me feel like it was just something that made since. So I try to buy my ticket today and now the price is $60. I talk to the ticket agent and she says, sorry lady you are an idoit (not in so many words) but I can't do anything for you, then she transfers me to a customer service agent, to whom she had already told my story, who told me sorry lady there is nothing we can do. I was like look here, I would have bought this on Tuesday, but the lady told me I couldn't. She never mentioned to me that I could have gone somewhere to buy the ticket. I told them I understand if you can't give me the $42 price but you can at least meet me somewhere in the middle, perhaps by giving me my triple A discount. I was told that they were sorry, but all they could do was sell me the $60 ticket, I said no thanks.

Then I have Bruce, the smooth talker, call. And of course he gets them to change their tune and they agreed to give me the $42 dollar ticket. Its frustrating, but at least I got my way. But if this is any indication about how this trip is going to go, I am in for big trouble. stay tuned.

The Apprentice

TiVo and I have reunited tonight after a little break. Tonight I watched the series finale of the Apprentice, I was glad to have it on TiVo, because I watched much in fast forward. It was ok, I was pleased with the outcome, but bored with much of the show. Plus how many Pontiac commercials can they fit into one show for the love of GOD!

Tonight I was going to go running tonight instead I decided to nap and watch Apprentice. I am feeling guilty about not running. But I am not feeling well with my decision because frankly it was disappointing.

On another note I am taking the train to Chicago this weekend, I am excited, I have never taken Amtrak anywhere. I will be sure to report on the experience.

Summer Loving.... on a screened in-porch

Ok, I am still off the TiVo subjected, but it's because the weather is so nice. I am currently enjoying our screened in porch (thanks to wireless internet and my husband.) Bruce cleaned off the porch wthis weekend. He power washed it and now it's a great place to sit enjoy the weather minus the bugs. Anyone who knows me knows that I am the first true mosquito magnet. If you are near me there is no need to wear any type of repellent because all bugs want to do is eat me. Ha ha bugs, you can't get me now. I am also enjoying a lot of time on the porch with the cats.

I have also been running a lot. Well it's more like a jog, but it's still exercise. I am getting addicted. We have a great park down the street from us, that I run in. Why am I writing all this, I am worried that all this great weather is leaving little time to TiVo. Thank God for that 80 hour hard drive.

Off the TiVo Topic.. a new Cyber Addiction...

So I am now addicted to Craig's List. I love seeing what's up there. I have used it to post my house several times with no success, but I just listed a dresser and got 5 emails in less than 2 hours. So maybe things under 100 are easier to get rid of. I posted my house up there again.

I may sound desperate when it comes to this real estate thing, but well I am. I am sick of owning two homes, yes at one time it was fun to have two homes. Where will I sleep tonight, hmmm maybe the summer home? Oh I am spending the weekend at my other house... I can't go out to dinner, I am at the southern home tonight. All joking aside, it is wearing thin now, especially now that there is much more yard work. Is there hope, who knows we are lowering the price AGAIN! Come on people I am not making any money off this investment. I also see other houses in our neighborhood selling. Do I have that bad of taste? Are finished basements really that cool? Was I mentally retarded when I fell in love with that house and bought it, three years ago, going on four.? Don't answer those questions, they were rhetorical.

I have obviously digressed from my earlier topic, Craig's List. Check it out, it's fun. Look for jobs, furniture, cars... And it's all free... ha ha ebay. Using craig's list is like sticking it to the cyberMAN.

TiVo Alert...

I have actually spent a lot of time outside lately and I haven't been hanging out with TiVo much. I did catch the apprentice, and I totally agreed with the Donald this week. Also my TiVo decided to record "Fresh Meat" on MTV for me, it looks like a really good show to get sucked into this summer. YEAH! I mowed the lawn tonight, so I will have to watch the Lost season finale tomorrow.

Not TiVo related, for those of you keeping track of our "rescue for your home" house, we haven't had any offers yet, but I am hopeful. Keep your fingers crossed. Well I guess it could be TiVo related, since I captured the segments on my TiVo.

"Rescue Your Home"
It's the title of the segment that our summer home appeared on this past Friday. For those of you who didn't know Bruce and I have been the proud owners of two homes for nine months. But we lucked out and Local 4 News decided to feature our house for a "sell this house" type segment. We taped the segment in April around Easter, and it finally aired. We had an open house on Sunday and 20 groups of people came through our realtor says it was the best open house she had in a long time. I hope this does the trick.

Season Finale -- Whoa Wait A Minute

So Grey's Anatomy ended Monday night with a big season finale. Denny dies, which was sad, but I knew it was coming. These type of shows can't have things work out all the time. Burke was shot and his career is threaten, while Christina isn't sure what's happening, she actually is feeling human. (Which disappoints because I like crass Christina.) However, I believe that Burke will be ok. Please feel free to hold me to that prediction.

Then there is of course the big taboo Meredith and McDreamy. At the nearly end of the two hour show, McDreamy and Meredith find their selves in some exam room going at it like maniacs, meanwhile Addison and the Vet are chit-chatting. So now I find myself not liking McDreamy and Meredith and feeling for Addison and the Vet. The vet I never had a problem with, but Addison bugged me. Now I like here. Don't do this to me. All these mixed emotions. However, it was a good season finale, not to crazy of a cliffhanger, but believe you me I will be back in the fall.

As for tonight's viewing pleasure, get ready girls (and guys if you will) it's ANTM. I honestly can't predict who the final two will be. Of course I am hoping for Danelle and Joanie, but I have a feeling Jade will knock out one of my girls. They like to keep it interesting. The question, I ask, is if she wins do you think the hair will stay? Does anyone like it, I don't mind the length but the color has GOT TO GO!

I totally called it!

Sara is out on ANTM. It's not surprising, in fact, I predicted it. But I worry now that Jade will win. I just can't stand that idea or that girl. Talk about annoying. Yes annoying. One more show, and then it's the season finale. I can't decide who I like better Joanie, with the improved smile or Danelle, the southern girl who needs to overcome her drawl. Also what was with Tyra's very very very purple eyeshadow.

Currently Bruce is playing my favorite South Park, the Christian Rock band. I love it, Cartman forms his own Christian Rock Band and goes Mehr. It can make you laugh until you pee, because it is true. I am not a huge South Park fan, but this one takes the cake. I may like Country, but Christian Rock, no one is fooling me. I love my friends who say you can't tell it's great music. No it isn't and of course you can tell.

A hole in my TiVo heart...

So it's May and it's coming... that time of year that all my favorite shows have their season finale and that means reruns. So what now? Usually that is when I explore the rest of shows that cable has to offer, but here lies the problem. By this so called exploration, I inevitably end up adding more shows to my weekly line-up, which is already quite full. The other issue is there are so many channels, I spend half the summer looking for something descent to view. So what is a girl to do? The good news is most of the summer is spent outside, gardening and running. But if anyone has a good suggestion on a show that I may have missed this season and should catch up on reruns, let me know.

Also bad news, my favorite Friday night show In Justice seems that it maybe canceled. It's quite a disappointment, because I was really enjoying it. Oh well, it won't be the first time a show I liked was canceled.

Wow Realty... I am loving...

Realty TV that is. This week, I have really enjoyed my mind candy television i.e. America's Next Top Model & Nashville Star.

First Nashville Star: This week they announced the winner, Chris Jones. The young 20 year-old from Tennessee, not only sang well, but he is also a cutie.. Yes I said cute, he is only 7 years younger: which is young but not illegal. I know this probably downgrades me, but it also revives my love for the country music genre. I like all music, but I am a closet country fan. Yes, fan, freak, say what you want but I am not ashamed. I am so geeked about this show that I would even go to the concert, yes that sound is you losing all respect for me. This is me getting over it.

Next, more importantly ANTM. Last week, Nenna was voted off. At first I was a Nenna fan, but man did she get annoying. Yes very very annoying. Enough with the boyfriend and the phone calls, for the love of God.

This week, Jade was her typical arrogant self. It seems that dost protest too much: I am humble, I am not arrogant, I am peaceful and I am a threat. Get over yourself. You are not that hot. I think my cat might out model her, if there were a model off.
Ziggy is one fierce cat!

This week, Furonda was voted off. She was entertaining, I enjoyed her very much. They are not going to send Jade home because she is great entertainment. My favorites are Danelle, who despite going to the hospital, had a fierce photo shoot and Joanie, who looks fabulous, with her new teeth.

What will next week bring, who knows but I am excited. It's hard with the weather being so nice, but I always manage to make time for TiVo, however I do find myself staying up too late: on a regular basis.
